Pablo Fuentes Nettel is a Principal Consultant at Oxford Insights. He has led the development of Oxford Insights’ flagship product, the Government AI Readiness Index in its past four editions (2021–2024). Pablo has contributed to numerous projects internationally. He has advised national governments on AI strategy and implementation, managed data-sharing initiatives in collaboration with the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI) and collaborated with government across Latin America to strengthen GovTech ecosystems. He has also led projects in the UK, supporting the integration of AI tools into government operations and advising Ministries on the implementation of the Digital, Data and Technology function. Before joining Oxford Insights, Pablo worked in the Mexican public sector as an Advisor to the President and a Member of Congress.
He holds an MA in International Political Economy from King’s College London and a BA in International Relations from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
He is keen on long-distance running and, more importantly, the carb-loading that comes with it.
