Kate Iida


Kate is a Consultant at Oxford Insights. Kate has worked with the United Nations Development Programme, NGOs including the Open Contracting Partnership, Open Ownership, the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative and the Open Data Institute, along with governments in Latin America and the Middle East on projects about evaluating the impact of transparency measures, human-centred public service design, and building trust through data governance structures.

Before joining Oxford Insights, Kate worked as a print and radio journalist in the United States, covering politics, the environment, housing and the arts at publications in the San Francisco Bay Area and Tacoma, Washington. Kate holds a Masters in History from UCL, where she wrote her thesis on health and policy after natural disasters in Latin America. She completed her undergraduate degree at Barnard College, Columbia University, and spent a semester abroad in Lima, Peru.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys hiking, bouldering and writing fiction.
