Innovate UK

Measuring the UK’s immersive economy

Oxford Insights worked with The Data City and Immerse UK to produce the third study of the UK’s immersive technology ecosystem, funded by the UK Research and Innovation ‘Audience of the Future’ Challenge Fund. The report examined the immersive technology sector in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic to identify key trends in technology adoption and business model transformation in the UK. To do this, Oxford Insights:

  • Conducted extensive stakeholder interviews to identify the opportunities, barriers, and prospects for immersive technology;
  • Administered a detailed survey to industry participants to provide quantitative insights; and
  • Developed policy recommendations based on these findings to highlight areas where future intervention may be needed.
